No need to explain…

Why is it that we feel the need to explain ourselves? Whether it’s with grocery delivery “My kids are sick and I didn’t have time to get to the store and couldn’t leave them…”. Or, to a friend when we have to cancel a plan “ I’ve had the busiest week and need to take care of things around the house I’m so sorry…”. To a house cleaner “I know I should be cleaning, this place is a mess. I'm so sorry, we’re just so busy with school and sports…” We constantly feel the need to justify and explain. We are living in a time that is extremely busy. After school activities, social gatherings, work obligations, 2nd jobs (groceries are insane!), primetime Bills games and the hundreds of projects and tasks around our house. We are just plain TIRED. Our free time and brain space is limited. What were once considered luxuries (grocery delivery, laundry service, housekeeping) are now becoming necessity, and that is OK! There is no need to explain…

No need to explain that you deserve free time too. That you maybe weren’t taught properly what products to use where and in what order, so it takes longer. That you get distracted and, instead of cleaning, end up re-organizing pictures from 2005 that you found in a drawer that you were definitely going to scan to a hard drive right before you gave up and tossed them in said drawer (No? Just me?). That you are harboring anger in your home because you are constantly cleaning up after everyone because let’s face it they know you will do it! There is no need to explain, to Mariano Cleaning LLC, or anybody that you deserve to have your free time, your sanity and your clean house back!
